We are looking to update all the electronics on our boat. And looking for an ALL IN ONE" unit, something that can display, depth, Apparent wind, wind speed, Radar, maybe charts etc...

Any Ideas!!!!!!

First you have to accept the fact that should your all-in-one instrument go toes-up you'll lose ALL your instruments; depth, wind, etc...

I recently installed a Raymarine C-120 display which is capable of putting not only the chart and radar on the screen at the same time but through Seatalk modules, you can also add sailing instruments (wind, speed, depth), fishfinder, and even engine 'instruments' such as oil pressure, rpms, temp, etc...

This is a great unit if that's what you're looking for.

In my case, though, I've only 'attached' the radar to it. If the unit goes South on me it really won't affect my cruising since I still have the depth, speed, and wind on a separate navpod.

There is at least one piece of data that should always have backup - Depth! I use a multi-display with log and depth both displayed all of the time. All the other data is there with a touch of a button: wind, temp, etc. But since I cannot see my windex I installed a separate wind display which is also capable of displaying the other data. Coupled with this my original bulkhead displays(Signet) still work after thirty years. There were times in the ICW recently when I was glad for confirmation.

What I would like then is that my radar and charplotter overlayed. I would always want the other two displays to be separate.

I was at our local boat show this weekend, and have found out that I will still need to purchase all the instruments seperately, each with its own display( wind, speed, depth) which then all talk to a chartplotter(c80) and display the info!!!! I was hoping I could avoid all the other instrument heads, But I do say you are correct in wanting to have a back-up display... Thanks for the info
