Phil: Just received my new CU-100 and evaporator and have a question before installation (replacing an older AB Cold Machine.) Once I wire in the compressor, can I fire it up first, without connecting the evaporator? I ask because a few years back I installed one of your Frostmate systems. The compressor would not start even after many checks, rechecks and even a new control module shipped to me from your company. Turned out that a loose fitting on one of the wire connectors (AB's, not mine!) was the culprit. But before finding it, there were many connects and disconnects. Problem is, I think, that with the new connections, one connection is all you get, right? I'd like to wire it up, make sure the compressor runs, then connect the evaporator. Will that work? Thanks.

You can apply power to the condensing unit to see that the compressor starts but do not let it run for more than a few seconds. The unit has been run at the factory. Phil
