Just information when you install a new Engine in a Hunter 240.
I purchased a new Honda 9.9 with electric start and power trim, with long shaft.
First, the use of using a long shaft increases the control of the boat. Great choice for this boat.
However you must change two parts. Firest you will need to have a new motor mount made since the current unit is to short. With the help of Hunter I found a supplier in MA.
Second the most important is thye actual mounting bracket must be exdtened over 2.75 inches. Also you have to make the top longer by 1 inch since you have to adjust for the power tilt angle. After doing this the is the best system for this boat. Also the key feature is that I added a remote auto battery switch for charging of 2 batteries.
