I am now with my 3rd Hunter the first being a a 23 and than a 25.5. So I am familar with the Hunter's. As winter aproaches on Lake Erie I am seeking advice on wintering the 28.5. How much of a job is it too take off the mast for winter storage? Also the throttle control keeps creeping down to a slower RPM. Any thoughts and help would be great. Most of my post are to help the 23 and 25.5 guys now I am on the other side of the fence. I also bought the deep keel boat, racing is in my blood and will be hiting the racing circut of my end of Erie when we are up to speed inthe spring. How do most of you have the rig set up? That's great, Cliff!

You also increased your 2-foot-itis to 3 feet this time. :) Enjoy your new boat!

Throttle creep fix.

Cliff: I posted a pictorial on the throttle creep problem. Look at it and see if it is something you may want to persue.

Throttle

I just use a small slightly tensioned bungee cord to tension the throttle. Pretty common problem. It works fine. The mast will need to taken down using a gin pole or some other hoisting arrangement. If you belong to a yacht club they may have the resources otherwise the marina probably will take it down. It is a lot bigger and heavier than you might expect. This is a good chance to tune your mast while it is on the ground. Check the archives for the formula under B
