right here you can get the 260 manual

If you click on resources (it is one of the links above) in the drop down menu select reference library, then select manuals, and you will find a 260 manual. The 260 is slightly newer (but not better) than our 26 boats, the main difference is wheel steering, and add a fwd hatch, but delete a center hatch/window. other than that the rigging is pretty much the same, as is the mast raising procedure, although the 260 has mast struts instead of baby stays to hold the mast steady when raising/lowering it..I bet a brandy new Manual could be obtained from Hunter themselves..I could not find one on the web, it is nice to have because it shows wire diagrams,etc..

Congrats!

The h26 is a great boat. It's almost hard to believe that it's only a 26 footer, with all that space below. Avoid the mindset that the 26 is slow. While I never formally raced, I found that our 26 could keep up with almost anything near it's size, other than serious racing sailboats. Well, at least in winds 12knots and less. Never had much success keeping up boat speed in higher winds, even when reefed. Speaking of reefing, the general concensus is reef early, reef often. Otherwise you'll just be fighting the boat. She was meant to be sailed fairly flat. Have fun. Ron Mehringer h26 Hydro-Therapy
