I have contracted to have a new 135% genoa made but they say they're having a problem "with the clew hitting the track at 2.5 feet above the deck." Who all with O-26's have 135% and larger genoas? Do you know approximately where the clews are in relation to the front of the genoa track and at what height above the deck? It seems that O'Days mounting of the track so far aft as compared with other boats is causing a problem for the design engineer.

Use the factory sail

as a guide. Ugadawg, I have a 25 O'day that I bought a used 155 furling sail. I have had trouble trimming it properly. The genoa track does not go forward enough to trim the sail. So, I laid the original (1979) 155 over the furling sail to see what was different. The leech on the furling sail was longer than the leech on the factory sail. This moved the clew lower and closer to the deck, making trimming in certian conditions almost impossible. The dimensions of the factory 150: luff 29.8 leach 27.7 Foot 17.2 Hope this helps. r.w.landau
