Can I sail with this transmission in Neutral?? When I put it in reverse it gets locked and I have to stop the boat completly to shift the engine into neutral. Would rather not start the engine in reverse. Have not been able to find operating manual on the transmission. No info in the engine manual. New to Yanmar.

Do a search on transmission position on this board and find out the many earlier inputs on this very subject. It depends on your transmission, not the engine.
