the end of our boom is open which makes it ideal for birds building nests. We have tried stuffing the opening with rags but somehow the little darlings still find a way to squeeze in and make a nest. We currently have the end closed off with duck tape which looks awful. I have searched the various marine catalogs for some kind of a boom cap but have found nothing? Can anyone provide a solution? thanks

Jean; You probably won't be able to find a commercially-made cap, but try making your own out of a piece of white plastic kitchen cutting board. It cuts and drills almost like wood, (I've made many things for my boat from this material; it's cheap and available). Cut to fit just inside and secure with four small ss screws.
