I am in negotiations for a 1999 410. I am interested in learning from existing 410 owners about problems, concerns, etc. that I should be aware of.You can also contact me direct at jlr@ESEC.comThanks you.
Jerry;Hopefully you have read the posting by Carol Donovan in the Ask an Owner forum (Posted July 9) which gives about the best most complete advice about buying a new boat that I have ever seen. She has posted a part 2 also with some more good advice. The subsequent postings and replies to her articles give good advice also. I sailed a 410 and lived aboard for a week of chartering in the BVI's this past May and I was very impressed with the boat. Another friend purchased one recently but I haven't seen it yet. He got all the bells and whistles. It is important to get as many of the factory installed options you think you might want as it is only a insignificant few thousand more on top of the purchase price. I made the mistake of not getting central air & heat or an autopilot which I wish I had purchased. If you make the purchase, where will you be sailing your 410? It is most important to have a dealer you feel good about and comfortable to work with.Keep us posted as to how it is going;Regards;Wayne E. s/v Wind Drift h340
Jerry,My 1999 410 (Hull 182) has these options: AC/Heat, 2500w inverter, Nexus instruments, Autohelm 6000, Radar, GPS, Raychart at helm and nav, spinnaker, custom dodger, bimini, full enclosure, Autoprop, and rigid vang. The boat sails like a dream but it has taken 7 punchlists so far to get everything right. If you want a copy of my punchlists, email me at bbunsey@ibm.net.Bob BunseyBlue Moon
