My solar powered exhaust fan has gone out. Do they actually help or just a waste of money? Thanks for thoughts...

I Think They Work

I used them for decades. They move enough air to reduce mildew. It is a fresher boat with the. If its just the battery not charging, you can get one at Radio Shack. The motor might be replacable too. Try a hobby shop. Good luck, Rick D.

High Humidity

In Florida where we have a lot of 100% humidity, I have choosen to close up the boat and keep a de-humidifier running. This keeps the mildew at zero and the boat smells fresh and clean. The solar fans only kept moving the humid air into the boat. If you want to keep it running they normally have a nicad C cell which you can buy at Radio Shack as well as other places. Bill

Gone out?

I have one on my boat. The battery and battery holder had croded when I got the boat and the fan did'nt work at all. I took the battery and holder off and put the fan back in place until I could get another holder. Low and behold it started running and its been running ever sense. As long as the suns out it runs when the sun goes down it stops. Never did put a battery back in.

You will quickly find out! *666

My boat gets hotter that h^&* when it is buttoned up. The vent works wonders for heat, dampness and humidity. I'd get a new one.

Solar Exhaust Fan

There's no doubt in my ex-military mind that they work. If you have any doubt simply go a couple of weeks without to see how effective they actually are.
