Boater, I have a 1984 Hunter sail boat. The life line stanchion base broke and some of it fell into the water - gone forever. It is an aluminum piece and bolts to the deck with 2 bolts and the toe rail with 2 more bolts. Hunter told me the O.E.M is out of business and they can not help. I need a replacement. I have a sketch it it is helpful. Thanks and regards, Howard

We all know what they look like

Howard, we are waiting for Phil to come up with a replacement on HOW. Yell at him! Last I heard, he was working on it. P.S. Part of the problem might be that each base, on my H34, is drilled to hold the stanchion at a unique angle depending on where it is located. Then it is anodized. That means a separate part number for each one. :(

Aluminum?

Stanchions on most boats are stainless. Any reputable welding shop can make one and weld the stanchion to it. Or you can contact TIQ. They may even have the part but you might need to buy the entire stanchion.

I'm sure it can be done but to look right they would all have to be changed. And the angle of the dangle would have to be custom fit. It's a problem on this generation design.
