Transom angle
Steve, Have you tried checking out some local marinas in your area for 272 O'Days with outboards on them? I'm supposed to help a friend of mine sail his 1986 O'Day 227 up from Marion Ma. on the Cape, to Bristol R.I. He just bought this boat and it has a wing keel with a Yamaha outboard on it. All you need is a complete measurement of the wedge. This guy's boat is up in Dennis Port on the other side of the Cape Cod Canal, and the original owner told him that he'd help him get the boat from Dennis, through the Canal, and to Marion. We had this trip planned for last week, but evidently, the boatyard people hadn't stuck the boat in the water yet. My friend Just stopped in at my house to pick up his pendant line that he left me to splice. He wants to try and get his boat to Marion Ma. on Monday. Then, he will pick me up Monday night to sleep on the boat and get a fresh start in the morning for the trip to Bristol R.I. We'll probably have to lay over in Newport RI for the night, and sail to Bristol on Wednesday. So, if you're not in a big hurry I could probably get you a measurement of his transom block and email it to you next Wednesday night or Thursday morning. There has been a lot of variables in planning this trip, between the boatyard, the weather, and the original owner. So we've been just playing it by ear. If everything goes as planned on these days that we have lined up, my wife will be available to take care of my dog while I'm gone.Joe
