This will be our first year waxing our Hunter 37.5. Prior to this it was done by the yard or the previous owner. The boat has always been waxed with a paste wax. We intend to follow that practice. The hull is in very good shape - almost no oxidation. My question is should we remove the old wax prior to applying the new paste wax?

Do you think that the yard removed it before? The new wax will disolve the old wax, anyway. Don't do the extra work.
