need to build a trailer

i just found an oday tempest 200 miles from home and i need to build a trailer for transport.i build trailers for living but i have never built a sailboat trailer in fact i am new to sailing, my family has just completed a sailing course and where looking foward to geting our boat home.any help with specs and or advice would be appricated.

Ricky - The key is to have the boat held so that the keel takes the weight and the supports keep it from tipping - at all. Once the boat starts to go to one side it will continue to fall. Every ride a motorcycle - hold it with one toe until it gets past a certain angle, then its on the ground. Same idea. I would check out the website for Triad trailers to get ideas for yours. The screw type support pads make life a lot easier if the boat isn't perfectly centered on the trailer every time. Justin - O'day Owners' Web

I have found the folks at LoadRite trailers super to work with. They have profiles for hundreds of boats-or will design for you.
