I went out last weekend and found out my Tach has stopped working.I have a Yanmar manual but it doesnt show anything about the Tach.I need some help with troubleshooting it so I have some questions: 1.Where does the Tach terminate at the Yanmar side.? 2.Is it powered mechanically or eletrically or both? 3.Any troubleshooting tips? Some are attached to the alternator, some are attached to the fly wheel. Mine is attached to the flywheel on the aft part of the engine. I thought it was attached to the alternator since I had replaced the alternator and all of the sudden it quit working. I called Yanamr and found out it was the flywheel and traced the problem to the sending wire coming unplugged from the tachometer itself. Doh! Works great now
