I came across this website on boatbuilding kits in the WM catalog. I dont know anything about the company, but some of these plans look great and might keep you busy in the winter months. Bob F.

I didn't think SD had a winter?

How about building a Radio controlled sail model sailboat.

Need work?

I can't believe anyone would ever run out of things to tinker with on their own boat, in or out of the water.

Winter?

Bob, Winter in San Diego? My oh My. Thought you guys sailed all year round like we do in SE Florida. Our best sailing months are just now coming, and from now until spring its time to be out on the water. However, if you have so much time on your hands, building a project sailing dingy sounds like a great way to spend that available time. Pick out a nice one and go for it.

I only wish our winter....

was as balmy as yours. You guys down south have no idea how good you have it...north of the 49th some lucky hardcore maniacs still go out sailing into December...clearing snow off the deck before heading out at 0F. Most of our boats have been on the hard for weeks already. We tarp them up pretty early and weep for months to come as you watch snow pile up around them. It is an unbearable period. Somehow I still find reasons and projects to go down and work on her...even at -10F. Projects, I got projects and if I run out of ideas, I go through the Archives and find more to do! We only dream of winters, when your only real issue would be to pick between wearing a "t-shirt" or long sleeves to go sailing in January... I'd trade place with you any day. Something so unnatural about a sailboat sitting in a craddle on land. They are so majestic in the water. Have a good "winter" and if you run out of projects and want to go sailing...give me a call. ;-) GG

Great kits and results

Bob, A buddy of mine had his father build one for him. It turned out great. I will say that his father does incredible work with wood. When I talked to him he said it was not too hard to put together. The boat is a lot of fun too paddle. I hope you get it and enjoy the back creeks that you could not get to before. Happy sails, Tony
