Need some pictures of 1978 O'Day 25

O'Day 25 Lands End Marina
My husband and I have purchased a renovation O'Day 25 (1978). This boat was totally stripped of all rigging up top and all cabinets, doors etc.. below. We brought the boat home in boxes of little and big pieces. We have no previous experience with an O'Day, but its a beautiful little boat and it has cleaned up really nice. The main cabinet has been rebuilt by our son from scratch and turned out beautifully. One of my problems is with the V Berth. I have new cushions but no pictures of how the very bottom(foot) is configured and the floating piece fits in. I think we were missing the pieces to put this back together. I need some pictures of how the foot is supported and the floating cushion fits in if anyone can help me out. I am also having a problem with the main cabin cushion back rests and how they attach to the hull. I have 4 C supports that I think are used to support the back rest, but again to see some pictures of how this should look would be priceless to me. I want to put it together solid. Thank you, Penny

Hi Penny,
Afraid I don't have any pictures but will try to get some when I'm at the boat. I can offer that the v berth foot cushion that is wedge shaped has a plywood backing that rests either on a lip in the fiberglass or a lip made by wood strips.
I remember seeing screws holding the back rests on. I think the fiberglass liner forms the bottom of the shelf and has side pieces. The screws come in through those side pieces into the plywood backing of the back rests.

Hope that helps.

Thank you Ward for your reply. For the V berth I understand what you are saying and I think I can figure it out. For the back rests, maybe the side pieces are what I'm missing because just the screws don't seem to be enough. They rock and pitch forward. If someone leans on them they will rip out I think. Something needs to give it more support and I've been trying to figure it out. Penny
