I just purchased this boat a few days ago.

I noticed that the floor of the boat has two rectangular cut-outs . I thought they were for storage but they are solid inserts:eek:. Is this normal or has someone back filled these after market?

I have an 85 22 as well and I thought the same, it is the weight to keep the boat upright! :)

Yup .. that's about 1300 lbs of lead epoxied into the bottom of the boat (bilge) to lower the center of gravity for boat stability. I like this arrangement much better than placing the lead in the swing keel, as the lead in the bilge arrangement makes it MUCH easier to drop the swing keel for inspections / maintenance.
