I have a 1981 O'Day 22 shoal keel/centerboard. I havehad her for just over a year and am only the secondowner. The PO tells me that the centerboard pendanthas never been replaced. It looks to be simply a cotton-braid clothesline rope that is showing its age, and that'sonly the portion I can see.I have a two-ton hoist in my shop which I intend to use tolift her off the trailer and let the CB drop by itself. What can I expect to see? Does the pendant attach to theCB through a hole with a splice in the pendant? Is therea shackle or thimble or other sort of connector? What type and size of line should I use as replacement?I'm thinking about anchor line since a lot of the pendantspends its time permanently in the water (fresh).I'd like to be as well prepared as possible so I only haveto lift the boat once.Bob / "Bonaventure"
