We have just moved from O'Day 272 to 1985 Cat 30 Tall Rig... And are very eager to spend time on her. After owning ODay and establishing an entire network of stores, suppliers, manufacturers, we are back at square 1 with the Catalina. We are looking for info on good/reliable parts dealers/suppliers (ideally in the northeastern US), places to get both new and used parts. After doing some searching, I found a lot of places, and would like to get other Cat owner perspectives on which places are worth while. The usual curse of too much info... Your info/opinions are very much appreciated!

I've had a C22 and now a C30TR, and I have found Catalina Direct to be very good for Catalina-specific parts. They seem to be up-to-date on part variations over the model years, so you can get the right thing for your boat. Even for non-custom parts, their catalog narrows the selection down for your boat, saving a lot of shopping time. Shipping is prompt.

Garhauer is the OEM for many rigging parts.

For sails and canvas, I prefer to use local businesses, because they can support all my needs for new, repairs, and mods.

There's also the C30 Owners Association, which apparently you have found. Lots of good info on that website. I think membership is worthwhile.

Enjoy the "new" boat.

Here are links for the C34 website:

Forum: (great search engine) http://c34.org/bbs/index.php/board,11.0.html

At the top of that page is "C34 Tech wiki", click on that and open up a whole 'nother gang of information.

The "101 Topics" on the forum has links to much valuable information.

Good luck, let us know if you need anything else.
