Need seawater pump for Hunter 42 Kohler 9.5 KW generator

I have a 1997 Passage 42. It has a Kohler 9.5KW generator. Kohler Generator model # 3TNE78AC-KM . The seawater pump will not draw the water up after 26 years. Needs replacement. We cannot find one. No markings or numbers are on the pump.

Has anyone had to replace this part? How? What is it? Where can I find it?

If anyone has this generator, could you look at your water pump and take a picture of any markings or numbers?

Thanks.

There are several pump warehouse supply sites on the web that can identify and supply just about any parts or pumps needed.

Kohler does not make the engine. It may be a Yanmar. Look on the engine for a label and then order a new pump from a Yanmar Dealer.

I have a Kohler 12.5kw generator with a Yanmar 4JHL-K. I suspect the K stands for Kohler.

Yes, so is mine. What kind is it, do you know? Can you tell? I need to replace it ASAP. It is worn out and will not draw water anymore. Thanks.

I have. My model, 3TNE78AC-KM , does not come up. I have written to them and to Mack Boring but no response yet.
The engine looks to be a Yanmar designed for small John Deere Tractors. The actual engine model may be 3TNE78 The additional letters are probably designations for the Kohler Generator, AC for generator, KM for Kohler Marine.

Try searching for "Parts for Yanmar 3TNE78" you may have better luck.

Thanks. Found the parts catalogue for the Yanmar. https://www.lozeman.nl/wp-content/t...toren/3T/3TNE/3TNE78/3TNE78AC/3TNE78AC-KM.pdf

But the parts do NOT include the raw water pump! Figure 10 shows the cooling water parts but not the sea water pump.

This is for you to check your Genset Serial numbers to make sure.

Did you ever think you may have an air ingress leak on the suction side ? I can't see the pump just "not" pumping if you replace the impellor every year. The "bump" doesn't need replacing.

Many thanks. What pump is this a diagram of? Yes, the "bump" is a cam. Forgot the term.

My pump is 26 years old with 3,300 hours. The impeller wears away the interior of the pump, the cam, the side wall and the cover plate. That causes the lack of suction. We have primed it and even installed a check valve a few years ago to keep the water nearer to the pump. Nothing worked this year after spring commissioning last weekend. We replaced the engine water pump last year.

Read my post #17 for all your answers. Please check your serial numbers on the genset plate.

All engine water is supplied by just one pump.

Done now with this post.
