Need Rigger Recommendation

I live in Northern Alabama in a place where there are no sail makers or riggers. My centerboard cable needs replacing. Can anyone recommend a company who would be willing to sell me a 12' length of 3/32" flexible SS wire with an eye spliced or saged at one end. I suspect that a nicopress splice would be too bulky. The centerboard is very heavy (30' sailboat) so I would like an expert to perform the splice. Thanks all.

Go to a local machinery and hardware

store that caters to the industrial and construction trades. Or go to West Marine or Hamilton Marine and order what you need. Also a local general aviation airport will have a maintainance shop that can assemble what you need. Boats aren't the only things that use wire rope.

May I suggest....

...that you replace that SS cable with a much easier to work with and stronger piece of spectra. It's extremely chafe proof, stronger, lighter, easier to handle and you can do it yourself for way less money. A win win situation.

I got my boat back in April. I haven't been sailing in over 8 years. Is spectra new?

I wound up going to Fauncetts

Thanks all for the advice. I gave Fauncetts a call after not finding an aircraft place in the Huntsville/Decatur area to make the cable. I didn't realize Faucetts did cables. They were very patient with me and helpful. Other than buying clothing from their Anapolis store while on bussiness travel, this was only the second time I did bussiness with them over the phone. The first time they were able to special order a 1 foot stuffing box hose for me. Regardless of large or small orders, they are very pleasant to do bussiness with.I miss living in Camden Maine where there were riggers, sail makers, brokers, and chandleries galore--all just a few minutes drive from home. Living so far inland can suck; however, it is nice not having to worry about hurricanes and high boat insurance prices.
