Illustration of a C-22 traveler

On the Catalina 22 National Sailing Association web site they have Catalina Manuals for 1977 and 1987. While the 1977 manual applies to you, it is the 1987 manual that has the illustrations that you require. Just use the link below, and then scroll (a lot) down the page until you come to an illustration of the boom and traveler set up. http://www.catalina22.org/manuals/mnl87/handbook.htm#4.1

Thanks. The illustration shows a differant setup than the one that came with my boat.Idon't have the cam cleats,or the roller traveller car system. The fella that owned the boat since new said he didn't need that fancy setup.

I have the one you have

Tim I believe that I have the traveler set you have (atleast for now I am upgrading soon). All you have is the stainless bar and a stainless shackle that holds a wire pigtail to the fiddle block with a cam cleat. You control the main swing with a couple of stainless stop collars that have thumb set screws. If this sounds familar to you I can send pictures over. It works but I am upgrading to an actual traveler car system for more boom control. Herb

Yes indeed

Yes indeed that is exactly what I have. I would be very grateful.I too, will be upgrading however it may not happen this spring. What equipment have you chosen to replace it with why ,and who are you getting it from?I really would like a close up of how it connects to the end of the boom.Thank you Timm Rivette

I have similar model/year

Hey Timmr, I have a 1970 with a similar traveler system however I did purchase hardware upgrades for the main sail outhaul and newer traveler car that installs onto the traveler bar. Catalina Direct should have just about anything you need for upgrades. I don't worry too much about the traveler that much since the movement is less than 6"-1' each direction. I also purchased a topping lift for the boom as well as additional blocks to let out the boom further which saves the old noggin' from numerous poundings! Have fun!
