Need pelican hook for C25 lifeline

I had 2 of these pelican hooks on my 1985 Catalina 25. They are right threaded. I ordered a replacement from Catalina Direct, and it wouldn't screw onto the lifeline. Does anyone recognize this pelican hook and can you recommend a replacement? The previous one is on the bottom of the lake. Thank you.

I don't follow your write up. The studs on your life lines are LH threaded or counter-clockwise (CC) threaded as shown in your photo :

Do I understand correctly that you ordered a new hook from Cat Direct with a "right threaded" female thread ?

If I've got this right, then there's your problem. You need a new pelican hook with a LH thread.

Ask them to swap your RH piece for a LH one... perhaps include a self addressed pre paid parcel envelope for their convenience.

You know they've got to stick it into the largest box they can find and charge you $45.00 for shipping on an item worth only half the price of the shipping.
