Need Pearson 26 Rudder - Used

Hi all, we bent our aluminum rudder shaft, and the outer sleeve broke away from the inner sleeve. Hoping we can bend it back and perhaps weld or epoxy the split back together, however, prefer to find a good used rudder. Anyone know of a parts yard with a Pearson 26 being parted out.

I have seen the new rudder that is available, but hope to find a used one for more reachable price. This is a fresh water boat, so the aluminum shaft is fine.

I did not notice your location yesterday. As a kid, I spent a LOT of happy hours skiing on Kerr and on Lake Gaston. My family had a place up there for a few years.

Yes, thanks, glad you forwarded me to Tim, he's looking through his rudder stash for our replacement. Yes, Kerr is a nice BIG lake with plenty of sailing room.. spent my youth around Canyon Lake and Lake Travis in the Texas Hill country.. Skiing, Diving around trash cars and tires and trees, etc.

YEA, Thanks to Jon at MassMarineParts, we have just received a replacement rudder for our P26. End of a difficult search, now off to the tune up , and re-install.

Does anyone have some good tips on how the heck to get the old bushings out of the hull through. The top one, seems to be part of the boat, and is it a sawz-all type of thing ie: find a way to cut through the old bushing and pry it out..? I presume you can drive the lower one out with a long drift of some sort.

When sailing Kerr Lake do you need a passport to cross into VA like you do in the 1000 Islands between Canada and the USA? Or at least fly a courtesy flag?
