I have a 1989 Pearson 27 and someone was nice enough to send me a copy of the manual in PDF format. I also have an engine manual and so forth. The fuel gauge is a simple (non-electric) float style, attached to the top of the fuel tank. If you lift the bunk mat just aft of the engine, you will find a round, white plastic cover with a screw on only one side. Pivot the cover out of the way and the fuel gauge should be visible.
