Mack Sails

I ordered a set of sails from Mack 3 years ago at the Miami boat show. They are were not the cheapest but more than reasonably priced, much more so then the bigger name outfits. While they can build racing sails I believe they are more oriented toward cruising. If you go to their web site there is nice treatise on their sails and sails in general. They produce a quality sail that uses only the top tier materials. For example, I did not want a loose footed main but instead of a boat rope along the foot there were sewn on sail slugs. After 3 years, my sails are still as crisp as many new sails I have seen. I can recommend them without hesitation.

We got a set of Mack sails secondhand from a sistership in FL that got destroyed by a hurricane. Helped us win races against some hot competition - J/105's, 109's and Beneteau 36.7's, among others. The main and jibs are now at least six years old, and totally blown out (30 mile windward legs in 20-30 knots of breeze will do that...). We're still using the spinnakers, though. You may also want to look around locally in MD to see what there is. We've had great results from our local sailloft, ZSails in Stamford, CT too. The big guys simply couldn't match the detailed service and convenience.
