Any recommendations for a manual waste pump to replace the one in the picture (housing is cracked - source of odor).

Peggie,Actually, that's a bilge pump. You have 3 replacement choices among pumps that are made to dump holding tanks:
a Jabsco macerator pump Jabsco 18590-Series Sealed Macerator Pump
a Jabsco diaphragm pump Jabsco 18590-Series Sealed Macerator Pump
or a SeaLand T-Series pump Dometic/SeaLand T series waste discharge pump
I'd go with the SeaLand pump if it were my boat.
The pump is between the holding tank and the discharge sea-cock. It is in a small cabinet about 3' above the floor of the head and is mounted immediately before the vented loop.Is this to pump out your holding tank or for your marine head? Our Blakes Lavac uses the Whale Mark V bilge pump to pump out the bowl. A new pump can be obtained from Defender Marine which can be found on-line.

No downside...in fact, on an inland lake it could be the smartest thing to do, it can be very hard to convince a water cop that you have plumbing in good working order than you never intend to use. If you ever do take the boat offshore, it's a simple matter to re-install it.Peggie,
Thanks so much for all your good advice - I bought your book (kindle edition) and it has been a great asset.
I bought a 1988 Hunter 33.5 in July and am working on odor control. The pump in the picture is not electric and I would be fine to stay with a manual model. We are on an inland lake and unlikely to ever be in a legal discharge zone. What's the downside of doing away with it?
