splice would be a repair splice
Dwyer might be able to supply a splice to repair the mast, I realise that they don't have one in the catalog. The ones in the catalog are really for small boats, like a dinghy that need to be able to have a two-piece mast to fit inside the boat when not sailing. I'm talking about a permanent sleeve inside the mast to repair the break, it would be about 12" long or more to bridge the break and be screwed (or riveted) as well as glued in place. It would be plenty strong if done right, but obviously..a new mast (or used one) will be better.Zephyr Spars is experienced with these type of repairs, maybe a call to them is worthwile.
