Sorry to hear of your broken mast but thanks for the info so we can all learn from it! In the other Post, you used the word "keel" - did you mean centerboard? I am looking forward to warmer weather for practice capsizing. On lasors and sunfish, I was as good as you when it came to staying dry. Can't wait to get it down with this 7' beam!

Mast (and sails) for Catalina 16
I have a little Catalina 16 built around 1990 that has a wing keel. I used to sail it a lot, but the last time I had a bottom job done, the marina I paid bent my mast. He claimed it would straighten up with time... There is no backstay on it-never has been.
My son now wants to sail it more but I need to find a new mast and my jib also dry rotted. I suspect I will need all new rigging and sails to get it going again. Any sources and help would be greatly appreciated. You can reach me at ddw987987987@msn.com
