I am planning to buy a 1984 C&C 24 that I have sailed in 20 times and would like to know:

- approximate value (it is in good condition)
- where to buy an owner's manual
- where to buy parts

Thanks

I have sold mine (1975, though) for $5k last year. There was one available a few months ago for $1k (sic!), but only to good hands.
There are a few around for anywhere from $3500 to $8000.

Btw. I don't think C&C was making the 24 in 1984. But the hull number would tell you the details.

I don't think there is a "store" that supplies C&C parts. Check Holland Marine out of Hamilton, ON. They still store some C&C parts. (www.hollandmarine.com/Main.html).

And check cncphotoalbum.com for any technical information you may need.

Thanks dziedzicmj,

How do you read a C&C hull number? I know how to read Hobies, but not C&C.

Thanks

All HINs are (should be?) the same. This might help: http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/hin.htm

Depending when (and where) the hull was manufactured, you will have CCY or ZCC as the manufacturer's code and the rest is standard.

Google "cnc-list HIN" and you would probably find more hits than you want to read.

Thanks, dziedzicmj .

This has been very helpful.

I hesitate to sign even my first name as no one seems to do that. Is that the correct protocol?

Strong C&C owner's group site. http://www.cncphotoalbum.com

Joe (there's not protocol on signing your name, do what you like)

Please join the C&C owners group. I have a '76 C&C 33 and the forum is great help and a great bunch of folks. C&Cs are great boats best value for the money IMO.
