I recently bought an H-22 and have enjoyed it so far. I would like to have a factory manual of copy for reference. Does anyone have one? Perhaps to e-mail or snail mail a copy to me? My e-mail is AdamsFamilyJr@aol.com Thanks a million Jim

Manual

Hey there from Cold Florida. I called Hunter and paid $20 to have one sent to me. Wasn't really worth it. Only about 5 or 6 pages are relevent, the rest of the 25 or so pages are from other Hunter boats I believe. The good parts, rigging specs., Swing Keel rigging, and maybe one or two other things. If you have a fax number I can get you the pages I think will help. The manual I have is for a '82 22.

Sent

Sent about 10 pages to you tonight mike. Hope some of it's useful. By the way, have you ever had a leaking problem on your boat? Seems I have water collecting in the bilge, maybe a couple of gallons every week or so and then it sort of stops. It's definitely coming from the river because the St. Johns where I keep her is blackish water and the stuff I pump out is the same color. I think it's probably from the center board area, but can't be sure. thanks.

thanks David

got your fax - thanks it will be helpful. As far as leaking goes, I have a dry boat - no leaks at the centerboard area - I guess I'm lucky here since there are other owners who have experienced this - check the archives - I have not done any major centerboard repairs but did notice that thee was a lot of "sealant" around the two plates on the underside that hold the assembly in place (done by prior owners). There had been some water in the bilge before I purchased the boat but all I did was put a fiberglass patch over the two plates which apparently cured the problem;

water in bilge

was a little too quick on the submit trigger I also put a fiberglass patch over the knot meter (had to break off one of the spinners) since there was some water upfront - this cured it and the loss of the knotmeter is not very important to me; also, I made a new companionway hatch (one piece) since freshwater (rainwater since I sail in saltwater) was somehow getting in and this fixed it - I now have a dry boat !

Thanks Mike, which plates

did you put the fiberglass over? I haven't had mine out of the water except when I bought her, plan to do that in March to get ready for the spring. Will the plates be visible when I pull it out? Thanks for the help.

plates location

you'll see them when you pull the boat out of the water; they are metal (bronze?) and on the underside mid-ship - they hold in the centerboard pin assembly mike
