I have found a Genoa set up for a CDI furler. The luff length seems to be correct at 23ft 9inches, but the foot is 16ft 2 inches. Will this work well on a 22 ft boat? I have already bought it I think. I just wanted to know so if it would not work, I would go ahead and resell the genoa. I see genoas referred to as genoas, 110 genoas, 120 genoas and 150 genoas. What exactly does that mean, and what size would be the one I have found?

What you have

It sounds like a 150 or larger. It can work on the H22 using snach blocks on the toe rail. The 120, 130 & 150 refusn to the over lap of the main. A 150 overlappes the main by 50%. The large head sails are for ligth air. Jim

Meaning of the numbers

Just a simple piece of information from my racing days....the percentage numbers for the jib are the percentage of your J Measurement. On the hunter 22, the J is 9'. A 150 jib would have a 13.5 foot on the sail. A number 1 is usually 150% of J... On down to a #3 being 110-100 percent of J.

Thanks for the information!!

Thanks for the info. Considering how the wind blows here lately, I think I will save this sail for one of those August Dog Days with very little breeze.
