I'm getting ready to build a trailer for my Oday25 and need a measurement. If anybody has a Oday25 out of the water could you measure the opening for the centerboard. I need the length of the opening so i can space the axles so the centerboard can be lowered for painting/cleaning. Thanks.

Buck 100,

I have a O'Day 26, which is a later day version of the 25, but 10" longer.
I have a trailer for it.

I also have another boat with a swing centerboard and its trailer.

May I suggest that it is not best to have wheels so far apart as would be necessary to drop centerboard. You would need about five foot of swing room and that would be two much distance for wheels on a trailer for a 25.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Because of the length of the springs on the axle's i may only be looking at about six inches longer spread. I have thought about the turning radius of the wheels, is that your thought?

Buck,

No.

I am thinking of load balance and weight distribution on wheels and hitch. Weight for some others to chime in. Especially those who have modified trailers. Ask Joe for his opinion.
