Mine has the fine seizing wire that runs through small holes near the tip. I use rubberized friction tape to rap it all up for protection, but I sure do like those polyester ones that Joe uses! Where can I find them?
There's a link embedded in the picture that will take you directly to a source. If you read the detail on the product page you'll see that "Taylor-Made" claims the design allows excellent drainage....

A small bit of stainless steel seizing wire around the shroud above the spreader, passing through the hole and around the shroud below below the spreader will hold it all together. Maybe make a couple passes through the hole.
I've seen that seizing wire at Lowes

For those interested. There is a Navy military surplus seller on Ebay that is selling military spec 316 stainless .047 lockwire (seizing) for $8 for a pound roll. I will use it on my spreader tips plus many other uses.

When you just need a foot or two for something like this you can also go to your local lawnmower shop and pick up a piece of inner throttle cable wire. it's the proper size, stainless, and sold by most shops by the foot for a few pennies ft.
