I need help figuring out how to rig a main sheet on an older Newport 17.5 Some fittings must be missing from my boat. Does anyone have one of these, or would be willing to answer a question or two, or give suggestions, if I elaborate and send a picture?

I had one.
It had a tang bolted at the end of the boom so that the boom could rotate to reef. One block connected to the hole at the bottom of the tang. There was a small aluminum track that bridged the notch in the transom where the tiller came through. There was a traveller car on that track that the block with the cam cleat attached. If that is what is gone, simply screw an eye on either side of the transom and attach a stainless cable to each eye. Reeve a small block on the cable and attach your sheet to the block.
