Need Help w Ground tackle 260

I want to upgrade my ground tackle, I have the standard ground tackle that came with the boat I beleave the standard stuff is 5 ft 1/4 chain 100ft, Frotress Guardian Utility anchor 11 LBS, and a very short anchor roller. The anchor doesn't seem to fit the short roller very well. I have bought,tried and returned a Horizon 16.5 LBS Claw Anchor, Bruce Anchor Roller BRM-2. The Claw anchor didn't fit the roller very well and the two didn't fit the boat at all. If any of you,in ciber land have a better solution, I would sure like to hear of it. I did buy and keep a new Rope/Chain Anchor Rode 15ft 1/4 dia chain with 200ft 1/2 inch line. I'm espically interested in a system where the better half doesn't have to lift the anchor over/under the fwd life lines, but will store in the roller. Thanks Baums Rush

My ground tackle is 14 ft of chain and 150 ft of rope with the standard danforth. 1. You lift the anchor is one solution. Even tho' I do I still hit the boat. 2. I have fabricated an extension to my roller using aluminum I got at a hardware store. I am no machanist but it does look fairly good. I just bolted it to outside of the existing roller. I moved the roller foward and the pin also. I even shaped it like the existing one. Unfortuntely I have not be able to try it out but it should work. I added about 6-8 inches to the roller. I just did not want to pull the old roller and install an new one, not knowing what the bolt situation was underneath. If you need a I could get a pic done and added to this. Corky
