Try as I may, I cannot find any information on the source of the ladder bracket pictured. There are two of them on my boat, 13.5" apart. The ladder itself is missing, and I'd like find the corresponding ladder-side doodads that clip into these brackets. Thanks!

There were a number of ladders from a few decades back that used screw in mounts to accept stowable ladders on boats. Gaerlick (Eez Inn) from St. Paul Park, MN was one. There was another white ladder that folded so that the rungs were hinged and so it folded into a long, narrow composition and I am trying to remember the name of the product. But, it is of no use because they went out of business several years ago and no longer can be found (but they were a good ladder). Not sure why you need to know this info. You are better off to toss them out and retrofit something more current. Life is too short to find something like that when there are a number of reasonably priced ladders on the market today.

In a recent thread a C27 owner asked about ladders. There are basically three varieties:
1. Stern hung - simplicity and stowage; difficulty boarding especially with waves and/or currents
2. side ladder - easier to get on the boat; not good for raft ups, unless you have the mentioned "holders" on deck, they can slide around
3. Specialty ladders built into the plane of the lifelines - neat, no stowage issues; expensive, not good for raft ups

You should probably note that the mounts you have are most likely only there only to position the ladder and hold it there, ready for use. They do not actually bear the weight of oncoming crew. The ladder itself probably should hook somehow over the toerail, so that it (and the toerail) bear the weight.
