Need help from H31 owners re: Bomar hatch

On my 1985 H31, there is an opening Bomar hatch above the salon area, just aft of the mast. On the hatch, there are 2 aluminum (or some other alloy) hinges. One bent and then broke in half. I was able to remove the half attached to the hatch itself, but not the other half attached to the frame of the hatch (which is attached to the deck of the boat). It appears to be attached by only one screw and 2 pins (possibly for alignment?). The screw comes right out but the rest of the hinge doesn't budge. Has anyone had to remove the hinge for replacement? Can it be removed? I am assuming, for now, that after 16 years, it has bonded itself pretty well, aluminum to aluminum, but I am reluctant to start hammering and chiseling until I know that it can be removed. Then I would send it to Bomar and try to buy a replacement. All thoughts welcome and appreciated.

Bomar Hatch Changes

Just changed my forward hatch on my H-35 - might be the same one as on your boat as Hunter tends to use the same equipment. Tried to buy just the opening part but learned that they had a fire several years ago and all the jigs were destroyed. Decided to just get a new one and it came close to the old rough-in. The corners are a larger radius so there is a gap which should be filled in or the corner screws won't fit. With regard to my old hatch I was able to get both hinges off albit with difficulty. I keep harping about taking all the stainless fastners out of aluminum and coating them with Lanocoat or Never Seze but I overlooked these.
