I have been bothering a lot of you about the 77 H25 i was looking at, well I also saw an 84 H25.5. the 25.5 has a lot more electronics but the 25 is a lot cheeper. both in great cond. what to do??? does one design out preform the other or is their any other insight you can give me to help me make a decision. both have been checked out and in great cond.

25.5

Steve, my first sailboat was a 1985 H25.5. What a fantastic first boat. I can't say enough good things about that boat. I know nothing of the 77 25 but the 25.5 wont dissapoint you.

Both good boats

I'd visit them both, lie in the bunks, sit in the cockpit, look at the lines, then pick the one I liked, and be sure a survey was written into my contract. By the way, a GPS, and a depth sounder are about all the instruments you need to start out. Adding more basic instruments is relatively easy, and the prices aren't so high today. If the 25.5 is over your budget, keep looking - there are lots of great boats out there (remembering the need to survey.) David Lady Lillie
