batteries. Does anyone have a inexpensive source? My best price in the MA-RI area is $130 and change.I got 4.5 seasons out of my current set. I would consider another brand if they were substantially less expensive.
I look everywhere I could and around 120-130 was best price I could find. I went to Sam Club and they have a battery that had almost identicial specifications as the T-105. Made in Mexico I believe. Anyway have had them for 1 year with zero problems. I have solar panels they keep them up so I don't push these batterys much. I believe the Sam Club batteries where 64 dollars each. Unless your application is live aboard, world cruising or very extreme I think these could work almost as well. My experience is you can not beat the T-105 when the going gets rough.
Don- a Google search came up empty for Deka in Providence, but maybe I just missed it. If you have a phone number or address, I will check them out.Kenny- I looked at Sam's club, but I could find no listing for any deep cycle batteries. Do you have a link?TIA
Just checked my old invoice:Northeast Battery449 West Fountain Street, Providence, RI 02903 Telephone 800-441-8824 must have gotten Deka from the battery I bought my mother-in-law...Compare the t105 and t125 prices to see if it's worth the difference to you
My brothers Sam's Club 6V golf cart batteries are going on 6 years with bad care and little to no maintenance! I think he paid $65.00 ea but they are probably slightly more now!
Don, they quoted me $130 for the T-105 (225AH), $152 for the T-125 (240AH), and $210 for the T-145 (260AH).IMO, the much higher prices for the T-125 and T145 are way out of line for the 5-6% capacity increase per step.
A-1 Battery in Quincy, MA quoted me $84 for the US-2200 rated at 232AH. It is the T-105 equivalent.Even if the life is not as long, these might be the best-bang-for-the-buck if the performance is on par with Trojan. They also have models US-125 (242AH) and US-145 (251AH) and I think I will get a quote on them as well.Anyone have direct experience with this brand of battery?
Rich: I replaced my Trojans with Sam's club. I got four years out of the Trojans, but they were pretty far down the last year. My head spun when I priced the replacements; up 30% over what I had paid. I decided to try the Sam's Club Exides at 50% of the cost. Don't know if it's false economy or not, but my thinking is that I'd rather have fresh batteries more often. We'll see. So far so good. Rick D.
I am not a member, but after searching for ANY kind of auto, marine, deep cycle, golf cart, etc., I have found nothing at Sam's Club.To all of you who have purchased from them in the past, do the NOW STILL CARRY these products? If so, where?
They have both batteries (auto, truck, RV, marine, golf) and tires on site at my Sams, and at the ones in the neighboring towns. You'd save enough on a couple of these batteries to pay for a one year membership.
I bought 4 golf cart batteries last year from Sams Club and so far they've got me through 1 season and they still have almost all of their power. I'm betting they will last me at least 4 years. Just remember to keep the water levels up in them or they will be junk in no time. I keep a gallon of distilled water on the boat just for them. They were $65 each a year ago. good luckDave
