Need source to replace cabin overhead light fixture. Hunter unable to provide proper model number or current source. There is no model number on the old unit but it may be a Guest model 835c which is no longer made. Ideas or links welcomed.

Replaced ours with Alpen Glow
Jim: I just replaced all of our recessed florescent lights with Alpenglow units. Bob custom made these units to fit in the recesses on the HV'36. Give him a call and tell him that you made them for me! I also had two cabin units made with RED LED's.

Check at a Camper Supply Store
Camper supply stores (some are online) have "Thin Line" types of fixtures for sale. They sometimes can replace one that you already have.

The problem with all of these other light fixtures is the fact that they are designed for surface mounting. The lights on Jim's boat are recessed into the coach roof. This makes many of these other option not the most ideal. The lights that I got for my HV'36 were nearly direct replacments. I had them made with High/Low white florscents & High/Low red LED's. They only cost a few buck more than these cheapo replacment available from the RV & Marine stores. There are 6 fixtures that Jim probably needs to replace. (3 main salon, two in the head, one in the aft stateroom).

Steve, great link/referral and, you're right, it's not just a matter of buying something off the shelf and installing it. I'll be ordering the replacemnt(s) from Alpenglow next week but will just go "basic" and replace what's broken without the upgrades.
