Bought an O'Day 28 at end of last season and sailed her back from Cape Cod to Clinton Ct where she is now. Sailed fine but learned at end of last year that the fiberglass pads that the engine was mounted on were cracked/rotted. Hired a fiberglass guy to fix stringers/pads and that went fine. Also, hired yard mechanic to remove engine which he did in March 2013. I wanted him to leave engine in cabin but he removed and put in his shop. He said that it could use some preventative work and I agreed.
Anyway, fiberglass work was done middle of May and now its end of August and motor still isn't mounted in engine compartment. I've lost the season and now just want to get the boat out of there and hire another mechanic to finish this mess. 1st mechanic finally got motor back in boat but it isnt mounted and electrical, exhaust, water, fuel, control lines have all got to be connected.
I'm thinking I'll put the boat in the water and tow it to a mechanic but just need a solid recommendation? Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
