Hope someone can help me out. My 12V DC Aux. plug on the Nav. Panel stopped working this weekend. I have a Hunter 320 (new last year). Checked the owners manual for possible solutions, but found none. All the other switches are operational. What am I missing? Thanks in advance!! Bob

Fuse ?

Since most DC outlets don't have a dedicated circuit breaker, the have an in-line fuse. You might see if yours has blown. Hope this helps, Bob

Plug is hot?

Have you checked if the plug has voltage? If you don't have a multi-meter go get one you'll use it all the time. Or have you checked that what you're trying to plug into the panel works by plugging it in somewhere else (like another boat)? Jim "Prospect"

means just that. The fuse is "in-line" of the hot(red)wire. To find the wires that lead to the outlet you will have to remove the outlet or more than likely, the whole nav panel. This is not as hard as it sounds, but before you remove the panel, turn the battery switch to "off" and make sure you are not pluged into shore power. You should find a red and a black wire leading to the outlet. If there is an in-line fuse, you will see it's holder on the red wire. Push and twist to open and remove the fuse. If it is good, it will have a thin wire or metal visible through the glass. If no element is visible, the fuse is blown. Make sure you replace the fuse with one of the same size, volt and amp or less. NEVER MORE,unless you are a piromaniac. Good Luck, Bob

In-line fuse means......

just that, the fuse is in-line on the hot(red)wire. To get to the wires leading to the outlet you will have to remove the plug, or more than likley, the whole nav pannel. It's not as hard as it sounds. Before you start, make sure the battery switch is "off" and you are disconnected from shore power. You will find the fuse holder on the red wire leading to the outlet. Push and twist to open. Replace the fuse with a new one of the same size, volt and amp. NEVER replace with a fuse with a larger amp! Unless you are a piromaniac! Good luck, Bob
