I own a 1992 Hunter 30, with a Yanmar 2GM20 inboard. The vessel is moored in Chicago, Ill. I am looking for recommendations/referrals for a reliable mechanic in the Chicago area. The task at hand is to replace the control cable that controls the engine's shifting device, using an owner supplied part. The cable runs from the pedestal, down to the engine compartment. I am not comfortable disasseblying the pedestal myself -- well, I am but I am not sure if I can put it back together!
