Just bought my first, a 25', 1975 out of a tax foundation. They had no paperwork on her. Does anyone have an owners manual that could be copied? What is her displacement? How much does she draw? What size outboard should I get? 5, 6, to 9.9 hp or what? What "words of wisdom" do any current or former owners have on this one? I'll be sailing on the Potomac and the Chesapeake; am excited. This water rat hasn't had his own boat in forty years. Have just spent four years sailing on a friend's 25.5 Hunter on Lake Champlain. Bill

1977 H25

I purchased a '77 H25 last year and have a couple of brochures which I can scan and email to you. There may be a few small differences in the years but you're welcome to read the little bit I have. I'm using a 15hp motor which moves it well in Lake Superior at Duluth/Superior. Send your email to "ramcork@cs.com."

Mine's an '82 but...

...I think I have the entire ORIGINAL owner's manual/packet onboard. I'll get it and see if I can get it scanned in the relatively near future. Motor: I've got the 9.9 and it cruises quite well with it. For the Chesapeake in a blow, I would not recommend any smaller. Advice/Words of Wisdom: check the running lights wiring and coneections BEFORE you get her out at night. Had a few problems there, but easily corrected with replacement of wiring.

Hunter 420 Passage San Diego
74 Model

I have a 74 model but none of the paper work. Apparently Hunter changed the deck mold after two or three years to provide greater interior head room. I own the original design, and suspect that you might also. The original deck is more rounded than the replacement deck. The replacement deck is more boxy and looks much like other early model hunters. Check out the specs section on this web page, it has much of the basic info that your after.
