I am thinking of adding or making my current mainsail into a stack pack. Rollerfurling is way to expensive for my budget. does anyone have any sugjustions for me. thanks weterry@yahoo.com
trying to resolve? We have a 1991 P42 with standard rigging and Dutchman system and I really like it. I clean and dry lube the track each season and the main goes up by hand with ease except for the last six inches and comes down like a falling rock.Terry
I was thinking of adding stack pack also there a couple of sail manufactors who make the set up.but after listening to guys on this forum say they can be more trouble and some good and bad I decided to inprove my lazy jacks. nick
Mack Sails two years ago and really like it. Its less expensive than the Doyle but just as good in quality. Check out their web site. It comes with new lazy jacks, which were much better thought out than the OEM lazy jacks that came with my boat.
like the Dutchman system; it works. Our sailcover goes on and comes off pretty easy even solo, far from dangerous while underway IMHO. Now, replacing and/or lubricating the engine kill cable, that is a pain!Terry
mine is round. I agree the dutchman system is preferable to lazy jacks that I have had on previous boats. The issue is hanging on to the mast to zip up the cover in heavy seas.
