Vandalized is another word for that. They are only of value if delivered at no charge to a place of your choosing and you have the skills and incentive to turn them back into boats.

yeah cascade is great . they seem to be mostly finished by home builders therefore hard to be insured from what i hear from brokers . seen a few real nice 29s iin portland out on the island . but home built . I will have to check insurance companies to see if this is true . the people at the sailing life gave that info , but i do like cascade. they do a pretty good demo at the boat show , nd lay up a pretty stout hull .

Do your research. Take a look on paper and in real life at lots of boats. List the things you need and want (two separate columns). Start narrowing down the boats by using your list. Arrange to sail a few or talk to the owners. Don't be afraid to ask the hard questions... What do you like least about your boat, what problems have you had... etc.

Finally after you have your list down to a handful or less, do a comparison, eliminate the similarities, and identify the differences that are important for you. You should now be down to a couple or three boats. Do your sea trials, hire a surveyor, then make your offer.
