Need a VIN

Ahoy,
I'm trying to find out the history of a 30' Pearson Coaster built in 1969 but I can't find the HIN anywhere. Can someone tell me where to look?

HIN's (hull identification numbers) were not mandatory on boats until ~1972

On most old Pearsons there 'should' be a bronze approx. 2-1/2 X 4 inch oval with a Pearson logo and a 'flat' just below the logo with a 3 digit Hull 'series' number stamped into the metal .... thats about the only 'number' designator on most boats built before 1 November 1972
Sometimes components of the 'cabinetry', drawers, hatch covers, etc. have the 3 digit number 'written' with a marker pen on a hidden from view side.
