I need a trailer for my 1972 Vega - Or the plans to have one built. I need to trailer my boat out of the water at the end of October so I can continue refurbishing the boat during the winter months. All suggestions welcome.

Catherine, you might want to try Richard Trawick in Vancouver if you can't find one closer. He was selling the trailer he used to haul Mr Perfect (#813).

I got a quote here in florida of 5 grand ish for a custom built trailer. I also considered buying a flatbed and jack stands modified to hold it in place. Not sure how stable for working on it it would be

When I was looking at trailers last year, the least expensive mfg was a guy in Maine. I think Triad Trailers has the specs to make one, but they are probably 5-6K. I ended up buying a trailer on ebay that was somewhat adjustable (originally from a Norsea 27) then reworked it to fit the Vega. It was a lot of work.

Although I have not done it I believe some owners have built a cradle for the boat and put it on a flat equipment trailer, the type used for tractors. There are plans for a cradle in the VORM (Vega Owners Repair Manual) at the American Vega Association web site. Look under "miscellanea, pg 10.
